Hello, patients.
The algorithm has categorised you as either blue or orange. You've probably realised by now that this corresponds to if you've been fast tracked for surgery or if you're in the watchful waiting group.
We presume that those in the blue group have features that mean the algorithm predicts they can wait longer. If you have an issue with this, you're welcome to make a complaint to 0131 111 01 01 to be phoned during the hours of 09:45 and 10:15 on Tuesdays, 17:00 and 17:30 on Wednesdays, or 13:00 to 14:00 on Thursdays.
Please do not harass our staff. They are doing the best they can, and they do not have any more information than you do.
We have been told that the algorithm successfully identifies those with high risk features that means that they would likely come to harm if left to wait. And that it does this with 90% accuracy.
It isn’t clear exactly what features the algorithm is using from your hand scan to make this decision but we’re sure that with time science will catch up and be able to explain the patterns that the AI is detecting.
As a special privilege, I've been told that you've been allowed to enter the engine room and see how the AI algorithm was developed and how it makes its decisions. I, myself, haven't been able to see this, so I am jealous. I hope you make the most of this opportunity.
